Dumpster Diving for Dummies
Joanna: Weird!! Who knew that dumpster diving would become a fad? I've heard of vegans, but "freegans"?!?

Hehe...I do remember my brother had some pals who would dumpster dive at the local Krispy Kreme while they were at college. Eww. I've never dumpster dived for food, but I do remember a time as a kid when our local craft store was going out of business and trashing all of its unsold merchandise. So, mom took us back at night, and we found enough nice crafty stuff to last us for years.
I wonder if anyone else has dumpster diving confessions...

Hi Jo! I haven't ever dumpster-dove, though I've taken things from the side of the road that people were throwing away. But Aaron once found a bunch of nice clothes and shoes in the community dumpster behind his house. Becca sold most of them on ebay, but some of them were my size. I still have a nice Banana Republic silk sweater from that stash.
(Hey, your thing requires me to put my email address? I don't think Jeannette's does? Anyway, I'll put my junk mail address.)

on a related note, there's a new store here called "freecycle". people donate stuff (like stuff that didn't sell at their yard sales) and anyone can come into the store and just take whatever they want. i haven't beent here yet, cause i'd probably want to hook the trailer up to the car first. i'm such a scavenger!!!
