Up to 10 out of 70 profs to go at Covenant

The mind boggles. "...academics is overfunded."

It really *is* trying to be a different school than the one from which I graduated. The one in which over 60% of the graduates went on to further education (because of the fabulous education we received from the stellar faculty at Covenant).

Very sad.

ETA: For those who are interested, there are a couple of discussions some of us concerned alumni have initiated in the blogosphere. For facebook types, there is a group called Covenant College is an Academic Institution. For twitterers, see the thread Broken_Covenant

Good news! We wouldn't want our valuable athletes getting distracted by learning from those unnecessary professors. They might think too much!

If we fired 30 or 40 more professors we might be able to produce an athletics program capable of losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament! Just think how much pride that would bring to Covenant and the PCA!

Let's face it: graduating year after year of intelligent, Christian liberal arts graduates was getting dull. It is time the college got off of education and moved on to bigger and better things.
